Kat Zhang is the founder and creative director of The Suburbs Studio, a Singapore-based makeup artistry and creative management company. She leads a team of talented hair and makeup artists while dedicating herself to training and mentoring the talents in the field.

Kat has worked with an array of international stars including Charlie Puth, Gracie Abrams, and Elijah Woods. Kat was the makeup artist for Charlie Puth and hairstylist for Gracie Abrams during the Singapore stop of their world tour.

She has also worked with international media personalities such as Rebecca Armstrong, Yoyo Cao, Emi Wong, Lina Zhang, Chriselle Lim, Catriona Gray, Charlotte Brändström, Weronika Heck, Hwang Sebin, Yvette King, Scha Alyahya and Awal Ashaari.

She has also worked with renowned local personalities such as Iman Fandi, Salina Chai, Shye, Sonia Chew, Germaine Tan, Mae Tan, Gentle Bones, Zhang Zetong, Carrie Wong, Glenn Yong, Chen Yixin, Diana Ser, Mae Tan, Ilhan Fandi, and Shanti Pereira.

She was also the key makeup artist for the Van Cleef & Arpels’ high jewellery presentation in Singapore, where she led a team of artists during the three-day exhibition.

Her portfolio includes collaborations with Sephora and also hosting a Charlotte Tilbury masterclass. Kat was also involved in the 2024 Disney APAC Content Showcase as the hair and makeup artist for Yoon Jong Bin and in the Amazon Prime’s Rings of Power launch event as the hair and makeup artist for Charlotte Brändström.

Her artistry has graced the covers of prestigious international publications like Vogue, Esquire, Grazia, ELLE, Harper’s BAZAAR and L’Officiel. Kat’s insights on beauty and makeup have also been featured in Vogue, Grazia, ELLE, Robb Report, and CNA.

Brands and companies that she has worked with includes Chanel, Van Cleef & Arpels, Dolce & Gabbana, Adidas, H&M, Charlotte Tilbury, Sephora, Bioderma, Paula's Choice, Marina Bay Sands, Love Bonito, Warner Music Singapore, Universal Music Singapore, Maybelline, Häagen-Dazs, Atome and OSIM.

Kat is also the recipient of Woorailoora's DunGüd Editorial Stylist of the Year 2022.
